Select the games that eat your study time, start a session or set a routine for when you study, and only those games lock. Notes, messaging, and study apps keep working normally.

Games are a specific kind of study distraction: they don't just interrupt once, they pull an entire session sideways. If it's specifically a game, or a small handful of them, that turns a planned hour of studying into something else, blocking your whole phone is more than the problem calls for. Fella lets you select just those apps and leave the rest of your phone alone.

Select the games, leave the rest

Selection in Fella is per app. Pick the specific games that pull you away from studying and leave messaging, notes, and any study apps you rely on completely untouched.

Start a manual session for one sitting, or build a routine for the days and hours you study regularly so the block starts itself without a decision each time.

Why games specifically break a study session

A game rarely costs just a minute. Most mobile games are built around a session loop, a match, a level, a round, that doesn't have a natural stopping point the way checking a message does. "One quick round" tends to become the rest of the study block.

Blocking the game removes the option entirely, rather than relying on stopping partway through a match once it's already started.

One way through, if something real comes up

Each session includes one 5-minute emergency unlock, for the rare case something genuinely needs attention inside a blocked app. When the five minutes end, the game locks again automatically for the rest of the session.

If it's more than just games

If social media, messaging, or general phone use is also part of the problem, not just games, see our broader block apps while studying guide. For blocking games beyond study time as well, see how to block games on iPhone.
