Terms of Use
These Terms govern your access to and use of the Fella iOS app, usefella.com, Fella+, and related services. Please read them before using Fella or starting a subscription.

1. Agreement and Scope
These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and Fella concerning the Fella iOS app, the Fella website, optional accounts, subscriptions, web onboarding, support, and other services that link to these Terms (collectively, “Fella” or the “Services”). “You” means the individual using the Services. If you use the Services for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it, and “you” includes that organization.
By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services or start a subscription. Separate written terms may apply to a specific program, promotion, affiliate relationship, or feature; those specific terms control if they directly conflict with these Terms.
2. Eligibility and Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years old and legally capable of entering into this agreement. If the law where you live requires you to be older, or requires parental or guardian consent, you may use Fella only after satisfying that requirement. A parent or guardian who permits a minor to use Fella is responsible for supervising that use and, where legally permitted, for the minor's compliance with these Terms.
You must also be permitted to use the App Store, Apple subscriptions, Screen Time, and the Services in your location. Fella is not offered where its use would violate applicable law.
3. What Fella Provides
Fella is an iPhone self-control tool that uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks to block apps and categories you select. You can start a blocking session manually or create a routine that starts sessions on a schedule. Sessions may be subject to Apple's technical minimums and other operating-system limits. Fella can also show streaks, achievements, onboarding plans, reminders, subscription status, and related product features.
Fella blocks access to selected apps; it does not delete those apps or the accounts, messages, or other content inside them. Fella does not read messages, monitor keystrokes, or provide general web filtering. It is not medical care, mental-health treatment, parental-control supervision, emergency assistance, a safety system, or a guarantee of productivity or behavior change.
Subject to these Terms, Fella grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the app for your personal, non-commercial use on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules.
4. Accountless Use, Optional Accounts, and Identity
You can complete the current app onboarding and purchase a subscription without first creating a Fella account. An account may be offered for sign-in, subscription association, supported web-to-app onboarding, recovery, or other connected features, but it is not currently required for the core onboarding flow.
An accountless purchase is associated with the App Store transaction and an app-user identifier used by our subscription provider. If you later create or sign in to a Fella account, Fella may associate the subscription with that account. Restore Purchase may be available to recover an eligible App Store entitlement. Recovery can still depend on Apple's receipt systems, the Apple ID used for purchase, local data, and third-party service availability.
If you create an account, provide accurate information, keep credentials secure, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account to the extent allowed by law. Do not share authentication links or credentials. Deleting an account, deleting the app, or losing local app data does not cancel an App Store subscription.
5. App Store and Web-to-App Flows
Fella is distributed through Apple's App Store. The website may explain the product, collect onboarding answers where offered, preserve referral or campaign information, and direct you to the App Store or app. A website button or onboarding step does not itself complete an App Store purchase. Any subscription purchase is confirmed through Apple's purchase interface.
Apple's Media Services Terms, App Store Usage Rules, payment terms, and other Apple policies may also apply. Apple is not responsible for maintaining or supporting Fella. To the extent required by Apple's terms, Fella—not Apple—is responsible for addressing claims relating to the app, including product, legal-compliance, consumer-protection, and intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the app-license terms and may enforce them.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not listed on a U.S. government prohibited or restricted parties list, to the extent this representation is required by Apple's App Store terms.
6. Blocking Sessions and Screen Time Permissions
Blocking requires compatible Apple hardware and software, Screen Time authorization, selected apps or categories, and functioning Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks. You are responsible for reviewing your selections, session duration, routines, and device configuration before relying on a block.
Manual sessions and scheduled routines are enforced through Apple-controlled frameworks. A session can be affected by permission changes, device restarts, time-zone or clock changes, operating-system updates, force quitting, extension scheduling, Apple bugs or limits, conflicting Screen Time settings, or other conditions outside Fella's control. Do not rely on Fella to prevent access where access or non-access could affect health, safety, employment, finances, legal obligations, or an emergency.
7. Emergency Unlocks
Each current blocking session includes one five-minute emergency unlock. Once used, the unlock is not available again for that same session. Fella is designed to reapply blocking when the five-minute window ends or when you manually relock early. Ending one session and beginning another is governed by the product's current session rules and does not create a promise of uninterrupted enforcement.
The emergency unlock is a convenience feature, not an emergency service. Timing and relocking can be affected by Apple frameworks, permissions, device state, and software failures. You remain responsible for making sure essential communications, transportation, authentication, medical, financial, work, or safety-related apps remain available when needed.
8. Routines, Streaks, Achievements, Reminders, and Localization
Routines can start blocking sessions automatically on selected schedules. Streaks and achievements are informational product features and may depend on local records of completed sessions and emergency-unlock use. They have no cash value, are not transferable, and may reset or change if app data is removed, a device is changed, or the feature changes.
Notifications and reminders require your permission and are not guaranteed to arrive at a particular time. Fella may provide translated interfaces, website pages, support content, and legal text for convenience. Translations may not be available for every feature or update at the same time. If language versions conflict, they will be interpreted consistently where possible, subject to applicable law.
9. Fella+ Subscriptions and Pricing
Paid access is currently offered as Fella+. The U.S. website currently advertises a monthly plan at $9.99 per month and an annual plan at $34.99 per year. Prices, currencies, taxes, plan availability, and included features may vary by country, storefront, eligibility, promotion, and time. The price and billing period displayed in Apple's purchase sheet immediately before you confirm are the terms of your purchase and control over website copy if they differ.
Fella+ is an auto-renewable subscription. Both current monthly and annual plans provide paid feature access while the subscription is active. We may add, remove, or change plans and features prospectively. A price change to an existing subscription is handled through Apple and any notice or consent process Apple or applicable law requires.
10. Trials, Eligibility, and Promotional Offers
Fella does not currently offer a free trial on any plan. Both the monthly and annual plans are billed immediately when the purchase is confirmed. Fella may make trials, introductory offers, or promotional pricing available in the future. Eligibility for any such offer is determined through Apple and may depend on your subscription history, Apple ID, storefront, subscription group, or other Apple rules. Seeing trial language on the website or in Fella does not guarantee that Apple will find you eligible.
Apple will charge the price shown in the purchase sheet, and the subscription will renew at the stated interval unless you cancel before renewal. The purchase sheet controls the exact price, billing period, conversion, and renewal terms presented to you. If a trial, introductory offer, discount, code, or other special offer is made available, it may carry separate eligibility and duration terms, and unless expressly stated, offers cannot be combined, transferred, redeemed for cash, or applied retroactively.
11. Payment, Automatic Renewal, Cancellation, and Restoration
Apple processes Fella+ purchases, taxes, charges, renewals, and cancellations. We do not receive or control your complete payment-card information. Your Apple account is charged according to the confirmation shown by Apple. Subscriptions automatically renew for the same billing period unless cancelled before renewal within the timeframe Apple specifies.
You can manage or cancel through your Apple ID subscription settings in iOS or the App Store. Cancellation stops future renewal but ordinarily does not remove access already paid for through the end of the current billing period. Deleting Fella, deleting a Fella account, turning off Screen Time, or stopping use does not cancel the subscription. Restore Purchase can request current entitlement information from Apple and our subscription provider, but restoration is subject to their systems and eligibility rules.
12. Refunds and Billing Disputes
Apple is the merchant that processes App Store payments and refund requests. Except where applicable law requires otherwise, Fella cannot directly issue, approve, or guarantee a refund for an App Store purchase. Request refunds and dispute charges through Apple's available purchase-support process. Fella support may help investigate an entitlement mismatch but cannot change Apple's billing record.
Nothing in these Terms limits a refund, cancellation, cooling-off, or other consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded in your country. If Apple grants a refund, reverses a transaction, or reports that an entitlement is no longer active, Fella may remove the corresponding paid access.
13. Your Responsibilities
- Choose blocking settings appropriate for your needs and keep essential apps accessible when necessary.
- Maintain compatible hardware, supported software, Screen Time permission, notification settings, connectivity, and a valid App Store account where required.
- Protect your device, Apple ID, account credentials, authentication links, and subscription access.
- Provide accurate information and comply with applicable laws and third-party terms.
- Review Apple's purchase sheet before confirming a purchase.
14. Acceptable Use
You may not misuse the Services. This includes attempting to:
- access another person's account, data, dashboard, subscription, or device without authorization;
- circumvent payment, entitlement, authentication, rate-limit, access-control, or security systems;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, copy, scrape, modify, or create derivative works from Fella except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- probe vulnerabilities, introduce malware, overload infrastructure, interfere with normal operation, or use automation that places unreasonable demand on the Services;
- use Fella to violate law, infringe rights, deceive others, harass others, or facilitate harmful activity; or
- resell, sublicense, rent, distribute, commercially exploit, or misrepresent your affiliation with Fella without written permission.
We may investigate suspected misuse and take proportionate steps to protect users, Fella, providers, and the public. Those steps may include limiting or suspending access, preserving relevant records, or cooperating with lawful requests.
15. Privacy, Analytics, and Communications
Our Privacy Policy explains how Fella handles account information, onboarding answers, Screen Time-related state, product analytics, masked session replay, diagnostics, subscription events, attribution, website activity, support records, and affiliate information. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Agreement to these Terms is not a substitute for consent where consent is legally required.
Operational, transactional, security, billing, and service communications may be necessary to provide Fella. Optional notifications require device permission and can be changed in iOS settings. You are responsible for keeping any contact information associated with an account current.
16. Third-Party Services
Fella depends on services and technology supplied by third parties, including Apple and its Screen Time, App Store, sign-in, attribution, notification, and operating-system services; subscription infrastructure; authentication and hosting; analytics; crash reporting; and network delivery. Those providers may apply their own terms and privacy policies.
We do not control third-party availability, decisions, eligibility rules, payment processing, refunds, operating-system behavior, or policy changes. Links to third-party services do not imply that Fella controls or endorses everything they provide.
17. Availability, Updates, and Feature Changes
We may maintain, update, replace, add, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services. Reasons may include security, legal or App Store requirements, provider changes, technical limitations, low usage, product development, or business needs. Features can differ by device, iOS version, language, location, subscription status, or rollout group.
Service interruptions, delayed notifications, stale subscription status, failed schedules, data loss, or other errors may occur. We do not promise that every feature will always be available, compatible, accurate, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Where applicable law requires notice, refunds, or continued access for a material paid-service change, we will honor those requirements.
18. Intellectual Property and Feedback
Fella and its licensors own the Services and all associated software, designs, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, interfaces, databases, and other materials, excluding content owned by third parties. Except for the limited license expressly granted above, these Terms do not transfer any intellectual-property right to you.
If you voluntarily submit ideas, suggestions, or feedback, you grant Fella a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and otherwise exploit that feedback for any lawful purpose without payment or obligation to you. Do not submit confidential information as feedback.
19. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using Fella at any time. You may request deletion of a Fella account through the app or as described in the Privacy Policy. Stopping use or deleting an account does not cancel an App Store subscription.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create security or legal risk, misuse the Services, fail to pay through the authorized payment process, or if continued service is no longer reasonably possible. Where appropriate and legally required, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to address the issue. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, disputes, and general terms—will survive.
20. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” Fella disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that Fella will block every attempted access, reapply every restriction at an exact time, preserve every local record, prevent distraction, or produce a particular personal, educational, professional, or health outcome.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted, and your non-waivable statutory rights remain unaffected.
21. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Fella and its owners, personnel, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of profits, revenue, opportunity, goodwill, use, or data; device or app-access problems; or costs of substitute services arising from or related to Fella, even if advised that such harm was possible.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or other categories protected by applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability exclusions, so some of this section may not apply to you.
22. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Fella and its owners, personnel, contractors, and service providers from third-party claims, damages, judgments, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal costs arising from your unlawful misuse of the Services, material breach of these Terms, or infringement of another person's rights. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from Fella's own unlawful conduct, negligence, or breach, and it does not reduce non-waivable consumer rights.
23. Disputes and Governing Law
Before filing a formal claim, you and Fella agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the issue informally. Send a description of the dispute, the relief requested, and information reasonably sufficient to identify the relevant account or transaction to [email protected]. This informal process does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or using a small-claims or consumer process where available, and it does not extend a limitation period where applicable law does not permit that extension.
These Terms and disputes relating to them are governed by the law that applies under applicable conflict-of-law rules. A claim may be brought in a court or tribunal that has jurisdiction under applicable law. Nothing here deprives consumers of mandatory protections, local remedies, or access to courts that applicable law guarantees.
24. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect product, provider, legal, security, or business changes. We will post the revised Terms and update the date above. If a change materially reduces rights or increases obligations, we will provide additional notice where reasonably practicable or legally required. Changes apply prospectively from their stated effective date. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by law.
25. General Terms
These Terms and any incorporated or feature-specific terms are the entire agreement concerning the Services and replace prior agreements on the same subject. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; Fella may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or transfer of the Services, subject to applicable law.
Headings are for convenience only. “Including” means “including without limitation.” Electronic notices and records satisfy written-notice requirements to the extent permitted by law.
