Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Fella, including the Fella iOS app, website, subscriptions, and related services. By using Fella, you agree to these terms.

What Fella Does

Fella is an app blocker for iPhone. It lets you choose distracting apps, categories, and web domains to block, then gives you one 5-minute emergency unlock per day. Fella is designed as a self-control tool, not as a medical, mental health, safety, parental control, or crisis service.

Eligibility

You must be legally able to agree to these terms and use App Store subscriptions in your location. If you use Fella on behalf of someone else or under a family account, you are responsible for making sure you have permission to do so.

Your Responsibilities

  • Configure Fella for your own needs and review your blocked app selections before turning on blocking.
  • Keep your device, Apple ID, Screen Time settings, and account credentials secure.
  • Use Fella only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not interfere with the app or other users.
  • Do not attempt to reverse engineer, abuse, disrupt, or bypass Fella's services, subscription checks, or security features.

Screen Time Permissions

Fella depends on Apple's Screen Time frameworks and device permissions, including FamilyControls and ManagedSettings. Blocking will only work when the required permissions are granted, your device supports the relevant iOS features, and Apple's system frameworks behave as expected.

Apple may change iOS, Screen Time, App Store rules, permissions, or technical behavior. Those changes can affect Fella's features, availability, or reliability.

Emergency Unlocks

Fella provides one emergency 5-minute unlock per day. You are responsible for deciding when to use it. Fella may automatically reapply blocking after the unlock period, but device settings, iOS behavior, permissions, network status, or other factors can affect timing and enforcement.

Fella+ Subscriptions

Fella+ is offered as an auto-renewable subscription through the App Store. Subscription options, pricing, trial availability, and renewal terms are shown before purchase in Apple's purchase sheet. New subscribers may receive a 7-day free trial if offered and eligible.

After any trial period, your selected plan renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, or as otherwise required by Apple's App Store terms.

Billing, Cancellation, and Refunds

Apple processes App Store purchases, renewals, cancellations, and refunds. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID subscriptions in the App Store or iOS Settings. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel a subscription.

Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple's policies. We do not receive your full payment card details and cannot directly cancel or refund App Store purchases for you.

Accounts

Some Fella features may require an account or sign-in. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for activity under your account. We may suspend or limit access if we believe an account is being misused, violates these terms, or creates risk for Fella or others.

Availability and Changes

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Fella at any time. We may also release bug fixes, design changes, or feature updates. We are not responsible for outages, delays, data loss, device issues, or feature limitations caused by third parties, Apple services, operating system changes, network problems, or events outside our control.

No Guaranteed Outcome

Fella is a self-control tool. We work to make blocking reliable, but we do not guarantee that Fella will prevent all app access, eliminate distraction, change behavior, improve productivity, or produce any specific result.

Intellectual Property

Fella, including the app, website, design, logos, text, software, and related materials, is owned by us or our licensors. These terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use Fella for its intended purpose. They do not give you ownership of Fella or permission to copy, modify, distribute, sell, or exploit it.

Feedback

If you send feedback, ideas, suggestions, or requests, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation. We are not required to implement feedback or keep it confidential.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information. By using Fella, you also agree that we can handle information as described in the Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services

Fella relies on third-party platforms and services, including Apple, App Store subscriptions, iOS permissions, authentication, hosting, and support tools. Your use of those services may be governed by their own terms and policies.

Disclaimers

Fella is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Fella and its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, device problems, missed opportunities, or reliance on the app.

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Fella and its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from your use of Fella, your violation of these terms, or your violation of law or another person's rights.

Termination

You may stop using Fella at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, misuse the app, create legal or security risk, or if we discontinue the service. Subscription cancellation remains managed through Apple.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Fella after changes means you accept the updated terms.
