About Fella
An iPhone app blocker for controlled access.
Fella is built for people who still need distracting apps sometimes, but do not want those apps available all day. The product is intentionally narrow: pick selected distracting apps, keep them blocked by default, use one emergency 5-minute unlock per session if something real comes up, then let Fella lock them again automatically.
Why Fella exists
Most people already know which apps pull them in. The hard part is not awareness. The hard part is the moment when Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, WhatsApp, dating apps, streaming apps, or games are one tap away and the habit starts before you think.
Deleting apps can be too blunt when those apps still hold messages, groups, links, subscriptions, plans, or account access. Basic limits can be too soft when the bypass becomes part of the routine. Fella is the middle path: controlled access without open access.
What Fella does
- Blocks selected distracting apps on iPhone by default.
- Gives one emergency 5-minute unlock per session.
- Automatically locks the selected apps again after the unlock.
- Keeps the product focused on blocking, not dashboards or complex schedules.
What Fella is not
Fella is not a productivity dashboard, focus timer, habit tracker, VPN, parental monitoring product, or analytics system. It is a focused iPhone app blocker for people who want fewer choices around the apps they keep opening automatically.
Our approach
Every feature we consider gets measured against one question: does this reduce the number of decisions someone has to make, or does it add another setting to manage? Dashboards, streaks, and configurable modes all fail that test, even when they sound useful, because each one is a place where a bad moment can talk its way back in.
We built Fella narrow on purpose. One block list, one unlock per session, one automatic re-lock. That's a deliberately small surface area, and we'd rather leave a feature out than add a toggle that becomes tomorrow's loophole.
About Fella FAQ
- Is Fella available outside the US?
- Fella is available on the App Store wherever the App Store operates, since it runs on Apple's Screen Time frameworks rather than a region-locked service.
- Does Fella work without an internet connection?
- Fella's core blocking runs on Apple's on-device Screen Time frameworks, so the block itself does not depend on a live connection to check every app open.
- Is Fella built for iPhone only?
- Yes. Fella is built specifically for iOS using Apple's FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks, and is not available on Android.
- How can I contact Fella?
- Use the contact page or the support page for questions, feedback, or issues.
