The server stays quiet.
Everything else stays open.

Select Discord, start a session or set a routine for when you study, and only Discord locks. Notes, messaging, and study apps keep working normally.

A single Discord notification rarely stays single. A server going off mid-session pulls attention the same way a phone call would, except it keeps happening. If Discord specifically is the app that turns a planned study block into checking three servers, and the rest of your phone is fine, blocking everything is more than the problem calls for. Fella lets you select just Discord and leave the rest of your phone alone.

Select Discord, leave the rest

Selection in Fella is per app. Choose Discord on its own and leave messaging, notes, and any study apps you rely on completely untouched.

Start a manual session for one sitting, or build a routine for the days and hours you study regularly so the block starts itself without a decision each time.

Why Discord specifically breaks a study session

Discord's notifications are built to feel worth checking. An active server, a voice channel filling up, a message with your name in it, each one reads as something that needs a response now, not later. That constant low-level pull is a different problem than an app you open on purpose.

Blocking it removes the option to check entirely, rather than relying on ignoring a notification that's already been seen.

One way through, if something real comes up

Each session includes one 5-minute emergency unlock, for the rare case a group project message or class server genuinely needs a reply mid-session. When the five minutes end, Discord locks again automatically for the rest of the session.

If it's more than just Discord

If social media, games, or general phone use is also part of the problem, not just Discord, see our broader block apps while studying guide. For blocking Discord beyond study time as well, see how to block Discord on iPhone.
