Select the shopping apps that pull you away, start a session or set a routine for when you study, and only those apps lock. Notes, messaging, and study apps keep working normally.

"Just checking a price" during a study break rarely stays one price, and a product feed has no natural stopping point the way finishing a chapter does. If shopping apps specifically are what turn a planned hour of studying into a browsing session, and the rest of your phone is fine, blocking everything is more than the problem calls for. Fella lets you select just those apps and leave the rest of your phone alone.

Select the apps, leave the rest

Selection in Fella is per app. Choose the shopping apps you actually browse and leave messaging, notes, and any study apps you rely on completely untouched.

Start a manual session for one sitting, or build a routine for the days and hours you study regularly so the block starts itself without a decision each time.

Why a product feed is easy to underestimate

There's always another recommended item. Unlike checking a message that eventually gets a reply, a shopping app's feed is built to keep suggesting something new, which makes "just a quick look" unreliable as a study break.

One way through, if something real comes up

Each session includes one 5-minute emergency unlock, for the rare case a delivery or order genuinely needs checking mid-session. When the five minutes end, the selected apps lock again automatically for the rest of the session.

If it's more than just shopping

If social media, games, or general phone use is also part of the problem, not just shopping apps, see our broader block apps while studying guide. For blocking shopping apps beyond study time as well, see our shopping app blocker guide.

Fella, up close.
