The board stays closed.
Everything else stays open.

Select Pinterest, start a session or set a routine for when you study, and only Pinterest locks. Notes, messaging, and study apps keep working normally.

Pinterest rarely feels like idle scrolling, even when it is. "Just planning something" reads as productive, which makes it easy to lose a study session to it without noticing. If Pinterest specifically is the app that turns a planned hour of studying into browsing unrelated boards, and the rest of your phone is fine, blocking everything is more than the problem calls for. Fella lets you select just Pinterest and leave the rest of your phone alone.

Be honest about which problem this is

If you're actually using Pinterest for the assignment—research, references, a mood board for a project—blocking it gets in the way of the work itself. If it's unrelated boards and recommendations pulling you away, that drift is what a block is for.

Select Pinterest, leave the rest

Selection in Fella is per app. Choose Pinterest on its own and leave messaging, notes, and any study apps you rely on completely untouched.

Start a manual session for one sitting, or build a routine for the days and hours you study regularly so the block starts itself without a decision each time.

One way through, if something real comes up

Each session includes one 5-minute emergency unlock, for the rare case something genuinely needs checking mid-session. When the five minutes end, Pinterest locks again automatically for the rest of the session.

If it's more than just Pinterest

If social media in general, or games, are also part of the problem, not just Pinterest, see our broader block apps while studying guide. For blocking Pinterest beyond study time as well, see how to block Pinterest on iPhone.

Fella, up close.

  • Built with Apple’s Screen Time controls.
  • One 5-minute emergency unlock per session.
  • Apps stay blocked by default.
