One more round shouldn’t
cost you the whole night.

A Fella routine locks the games you choose at the same time every night and holds until morning, so the decision to stop happens once, when you set it up, instead of every night in bed.

Mobile games are built around a session loop, a match, a level, a round, that doesn't have a natural stopping point the way closing a message does. "One more round" at 11pm is exactly how a game turns into the reason you're still awake at 1am. If it's specifically your games doing this and the rest of your phone is fine, blocking just those apps for the night is simpler than blocking everything.

One nightly routine, just for games

Select the games that keep you up and set the start time to whenever you actually want to stop, and the end time to whenever you get up. The routine begins the session on its own, so there is nothing to close once you're already in bed.

Everything else on your phone stays untouched, including messaging, your alarm, and anything else you might reach for at night.

Why a game is harder to put down than a feed

A feed can be closed mid-scroll with nothing lost. A match in progress feels different: stopping partway can mean losing rank, a streak, or progress, which is exactly the kind of pull that keeps a phone lit up long past when you meant to sleep.

Blocking the game removes the option before the match even starts, rather than relying on stopping partway through one that's already underway.

Still reachable for anything real

Leave Phone, Messages, and your alarm off the blocked list entirely, so those keep working exactly as normal. For the one time something inside a blocked game genuinely can't wait, each session includes a single 5-minute emergency unlock, then it locks again automatically.

If it's more than just games

If other apps are part of the same bedtime pattern, not just games, see our broader block apps while sleeping page, or stop scrolling at night for the behavior side of why this happens. For blocking games beyond bedtime too, see how to block games on iPhone.
