One period. One session.
Nothing to remember mid-class.

Start a Fella session before class starts and set it to the length of the period. The apps you choose stay locked until it ends, so there is no timer to watch and no toggle to flip when it's over.

A single class period is short enough that most app blockers feel like overkill to set up for it. Fella does not have a feature named for class. It has sessions: start one manually and it runs for the length you set, whether that is fifty minutes or the whole afternoon. A class period is simply one of the shorter, more specific uses of the same mechanism.

Start it before the bell, not during

Pick the apps you actually reach for mid-lecture—social feeds, games, messaging—and start a manual session set to the length of the period. Once it starts, those apps stay locked for the full session without needing another decision.

Fifteen minutes is Apple's floor for a Screen Time session, and Fella does not try to get around it. Almost any class period clears that easily, so a single session covers the whole thing.

If it's the same period every day, automate it

A one-off session works for an irregular schedule. If a class falls at the same time on the same days each week, a routine starts and ends that session for you instead, so there is nothing to remember before walking in.

Multiple routines can run for different periods. A first-period routine and a different afternoon routine can exist side by side, each with its own hours and apps. See building a weekly blocking schedule for setting up more than one.

Still reachable, still bounded

Leave Phone and Messages unselected so you can still be reached the normal way during class. For anything inside a blocked app that genuinely can't wait, each session includes one 5-minute emergency unlock, then the block resumes automatically for the rest of the period.

Beyond a single period

If the distraction isn't confined to one class, our block apps while studying page covers longer study sessions, and blocking apps at school covers a routine that runs for the whole school day rather than one period at a time.

Fella, up close.

  • Built with Apple’s Screen Time controls.
  • One 5-minute emergency unlock per session.
  • Apps stay blocked by default.
