Use Screen Time for a basic limit, Downtime for scheduled access, or an iPhone app blocker when checking a message or favorite turns into browsing the feed, without cutting off genuine buying or selling.

You can block Vinted on iPhone without deleting your account or closet. Use Screen Time App Limits for a daily allowance, Downtime for a scheduled block, or a dedicated blocker with an emergency unlock for real transactions. If you actively sell on Vinted, an all-day default block isn't automatically the right fit, since it's a genuine marketplace for many people, not a purely recreational app.
The pull isn't the marketplace function itself, it's the feed sitting next to it. Opening the app to check a message about a sale, or to see if a favorited item is still available, puts a scrollable catalog of recommended listings right in front of you at the same time. What starts as a specific check can easily become an unplanned browsing session.
1. Open Settings, then tap Screen Time. If needed, turn on App & Website Activity. Tap App Limits, then Add Limit.
2. Select Vinted. Open the Shopping category, select Vinted, tap Next, choose the daily allowance, then tap Done. Selecting Vinted on its own avoids sharing a limit with other apps you still need.
3. Know what happens when the limit is reached. iPhone shows a Screen Time limit screen, but an App Limit can be ignored by default. That's an easy override here, since checking a message always feels legitimate, even once you're several minutes into the recommended feed instead.
Notice where the time actually goes. If most sessions start with checking a specific message or favorite and end somewhere in the recommended feed, that's the part worth restricting, not the buying or selling function itself.
Do not confuse an override with a failed limit. If you see an Ignore Limit option, the limit has triggered as designed. It is an expected iPhone override, not proof the app was never restricted. See how to stop ignoring Screen Time limits if that override has become automatic for you.
Check the workaround you are actually using. Muting notifications or hiding the icon doesn't block Vinted, and it doesn't separate transaction checking from feed browsing either.
Downtime blocks most apps during a scheduled period. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Downtime, choose Scheduled, and set the days and hours. This fits well for a work block or evening wind-down, hours when checking a genuine sale is less likely to be needed and browsing is most likely to run long.
Turn on Block at Downtime for a real scheduled block. Apple lets Downtime show a reminder by default; with Block at Downtime enabled, restricted apps cannot open during that period. Apps in Always Allowed can remain available, so review that list if Vinted is not behaving as expected.
Focus Mode is not a Vinted blocker. Focus can silence notifications; it does not stop you opening the app to check manually.
| Approach | Good for | Weak point |
|---|---|---|
| Delete Vinted | Removes immediate access on this iPhone. | Impractical if you sell regularly and need to manage listings and buyers. |
| Screen Time app limit | Basic limits and awareness. | You can choose Ignore Limit, and a limit doesn't distinguish transactions from feed browsing. |
| Fella | Blocking Vinted by default or on a schedule, with an emergency unlock for real transactions. | Built for one 5-minute emergency unlock per session, not open-ended access. |
A dedicated blocker is useful when a transaction check reliably drifts into feed browsing. A default-off rule, or a scheduled routine for your specific risk hours, removes that drift entirely rather than relying on catching yourself mid-scroll. If you are still choosing a tool, see our iPhone app-blocking options.
With Fella, add Vinted to the apps you want blocked, either all day or through a schedule that fits your actual selling or buying needs. It stays unavailable during the hours you choose while the apps you did not select remain accessible.
Use the emergency unlock for a real transaction. Each blocking session includes one 5-minute emergency unlock, enough time to check and respond to an actual message or order. When the five minutes end, Vinted locks again automatically.
That is the trade-off. Fella restricts the whole app, marketplace and feed together, so weigh how much genuine selling or buying you'd lose during a blocked period before deciding on an all-day default versus a scheduled window.
People whose message or favorite checks routinely turn into feed browsing. If "let me see if it sold" regularly becomes an unrelated scroll, that's the pattern Fella is built to interrupt.
People who still buy or sell on Vinted genuinely. The emergency unlock, or a scheduled routine limited to lower-need hours, keeps real transactions reachable.
People who've already tried app limits. If "Ignore Limit" became a habit of its own, a harder default or a scheduled routine is the next step.
Use Screen Time App Limits for a daily allowance, Downtime for a scheduled block, or a focused app blocker like Fella to keep Vinted blocked by default with one 5-minute emergency unlock per session.
Not necessarily. If you need to respond to buyers, ship orders, or manage listings, an all-day block with only a short emergency unlock may be too restrictive. A scheduled routine limited to your specific browsing-prone hours can address the feed habit while preserving normal seller access the rest of the day.
No. Fella blocks access to the app on your iPhone. Your closet, listings, and order history are untouched, and you can still reach them during your one 5-minute emergency unlock per session.
Vinted's feed surfaces recommended items and similar listings alongside your favorites and messages, so opening the app for one specific reason puts a scrollable catalog right in front of you at the same time. It's easy for a quick check to drift into browsing that was never the original plan.
Yes. Use App Limits for a daily allowance, or Downtime for scheduled hours. A reached App Limit can be ignored by default. Fella is a narrower blocker with one 5-minute emergency unlock per session.
No. Hiding an app changes where its icon appears, and muting notifications removes alerts. You can still open Vinted from Search or the App Library unless you use an App Limit, Downtime, or an app blocker.
