Use Screen Time for a basic limit, Downtime for scheduled access, or an iPhone app blocker when the vertical swipe feed makes minutes disappear without noticing, without deleting your account.

You can block Likee on iPhone without deleting your account. Use Screen Time App Limits for a daily allowance, Downtime for a scheduled block, or a dedicated blocker when Likee needs to stay unavailable by default. Each method restricts access differently, so choose the smallest one that closes the loophole you actually have.
The one-swipe-to-next-video format is designed to remove friction, not add it. There's no video to click, no page to load, no decision between one piece of content and the next, just a continuous motion that keeps the creator feed moving. Without any of those small pauses, it's easy to lose track of how many videos, and how many minutes, have actually gone by.
1. Open Settings, then tap Screen Time. If needed, turn on App & Website Activity. Tap App Limits, then Add Limit.
2. Select Likee. Open the Entertainment or Social Networking category, select Likee, tap Next, choose the daily allowance, then tap Done. Selecting Likee on its own avoids sharing a limit with other apps you still need.
3. Know what happens when the limit is reached. iPhone shows a Screen Time limit screen, but an App Limit can be ignored by default. That's an easy override on a swipe feed specifically, since there's no natural pause where the limit notification would interrupt anything you were deliberately doing.
Check that the App Limit applies to Likee itself. Open Settings > Screen Time > App Limits, tap the rule, and confirm Likee is selected and the days are correct. A category limit can behave differently from a limit on one specific app.
Do not confuse an override with a failed limit. If you see an Ignore Limit option, the limit has triggered as designed. It is an expected iPhone override, not proof the app was never restricted. See how to stop ignoring Screen Time limits if that override has become automatic for you.
Check the workaround you are actually using. Muting notifications or hiding the icon doesn't block Likee. If a similar swipe-feed habit happens on another app, that app needs its own separate restriction too.
Downtime blocks most apps during a scheduled period. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Downtime, choose Scheduled, and set the days and hours. This works well for a work block or before bed, exactly when a frictionless swipe feed is most likely to eat far more time than intended.
Turn on Block at Downtime for a real scheduled block. Apple lets Downtime show a reminder by default; with Block at Downtime enabled, restricted apps cannot open during that period. Apps in Always Allowed can remain available, so review that list if Likee is not behaving as expected.
Focus Mode is not a Likee blocker. Focus can silence notifications and reduce visual cues; it does not stop you opening the app directly.
| Approach | Good for | Weak point |
|---|---|---|
| Delete Likee | Removes immediate access on this iPhone. | Loses your account and saved content, and can feel drastic for an occasional-use app. |
| Screen Time app limit | Basic limits and awareness. | You can choose Ignore Limit, especially since there's no natural swipe pause where you'd reconsider. |
| Fella | Blocking Likee by default. | Built for one 5-minute emergency unlock per session, not open-ended access. |
A dedicated blocker is useful when a swipe feed's lack of friction is exactly the problem. Because there's no natural stopping point built into the format itself, a default-off rule doesn't rely on you noticing a good moment to quit swiping. If you are still choosing a tool, see our iPhone app-blocking options.
With Fella, add Likee to the apps you want blocked. It stays unavailable by default while the apps you did not select remain accessible.
Use the emergency unlock only for a practical need. Each blocking session includes one 5-minute emergency unlock. When the five minutes end, Likee locks again automatically.
That is the trade-off. Fella is for stronger friction, not flexible schedules, content filtering, or a way to check specific saved videos while staying blocked from the main feed.
People who open Likee for a quick check and lose track of time swiping. If a two-minute break regularly becomes twenty, that's the pattern Fella is built to interrupt.
People who occasionally want to check a specific saved video. The emergency unlock gives you a window to find something specific without leaving the app open and reachable all day.
People who've already tried app limits. If "Ignore Limit" became a habit of its own, a harder default is the next step.
Use Screen Time App Limits for a daily allowance, Downtime for a scheduled block, or a focused app blocker like Fella to keep Likee blocked by default with one 5-minute emergency unlock per session.
No. Fella blocks access to the app on your iPhone. Your account and saved videos are untouched, and you can still reach them during your one 5-minute emergency unlock per session.
A vertical swipe feed removes the small decisions that used to interrupt watching, choosing a video, waiting for it to load, deciding to click another. One continuous swipe motion replaces all of that, which means there's less of a natural pause to reconsider stopping.
Yes. Use App Limits for a daily allowance, or Downtime for scheduled hours. A reached App Limit can be ignored by default. Fella is a narrower blocker with one 5-minute emergency unlock per session.
Yes. You choose which apps Fella blocks. Likee can be on your list while other apps you rely on stay fully accessible.
No. Hiding an app changes where its icon appears, and muting notifications removes alerts. You can still open Likee from Search or the App Library unless you use an App Limit, Downtime, or an app blocker.
Delete the app, then go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > iTunes & App Store Purchases > Installing Apps and set it to Don't Allow. This blocks new App Store installs system-wide, including Likee, until you turn it back on with your Screen Time passcode.
