← Every app Fella blocks

Reorder is one tap.
So is the decision you skipped.

Your address, your card and last week's order are already saved, which leaves almost nothing between wanting food and buying it. Fella blocks the DoorDash app by default and gives you one 5-minute emergency unlock per session.

DoorDash did not create the urge to order food, but it removed nearly every step that used to interrupt it. No call, no menu to find, no card to enter, no minimum thought. Reorder rebuilds a previous order in a single tap, and the checkout screen is the first place you are asked to reconsider, by which point you have already chosen.

This page covers what actually holds DoorDash back on an iPhone, and what each option does not do. For the category as a whole, including Uber Eats and grocery delivery, see blocking food delivery apps on iPhone.

The order happens at the worst hour for deciding

Delivery ordering concentrates late in the evening. That is when you are tired, when cooking feels furthest away, and when you are least likely to argue with yourself about a $30 total. A boundary that depends on willpower is being tested at the exact hour willpower is lowest.

Push notifications are timed to that window too. A discount arriving at 9pm is not responding to hunger, it is opening a session. Blocking the app does not silence those on its own, so turn them off in Settings > Notifications > DoorDash as a separate step.

Why Screen Time and deleting the app both slip

Screen Time can limit DoorDash, and it costs nothing. Settings > Screen Time > App Limits, add a limit on the app or the Food & Drink category, then turn on Block at End of Limit. Full steps are on setting App Limits.

The weak point is the last second. When the limit lands it offers Ignore Limit, and one tap ends it. At 11pm that tap costs nothing, which is why people find the limit still switched on and the order still placed. We cover the pattern on ignoring Screen Time limits.

Deleting the app is a short-lived fix. The address, card and order history sit on the account, not the phone, so a reinstall restores everything in under a minute. If you want that route closed too, see blocking app downloads.

Blocking DoorDash with Fella

Select DoorDash, and it stays blocked for the whole session. Fella runs on Apple's Screen Time frameworks, so it uses the same sanctioned system, but without the button that clears the block. Anything you do not select is untouched.

One 5-minute emergency unlock per session covers real access. Checking on a delivery that is already coming is a genuine need, and the emergency unlock handles it without reopening the door for the rest of the session.

For the late-night pattern, let a routine start it. A session can begin automatically on the evenings you choose, so the block is already running before you reach for the phone. See app blocking with schedules, or how Fella works.

What blocking DoorDash does not do

It does not touch your account. Nothing is closed, deactivated or logged out. Your saved addresses, cards, order history and DashPass subscription are exactly where you left them.

It does not cancel or change an order. A delivery already on its way arrives normally. Blocking governs whether the app opens on your iPhone, nothing further down the line.

It does not cover the website. Fella blocks apps, not browsers. To close doordash.com as well, add it to Never Allow using Screen Time Web Content restrictions.

It does not have to include groceries. Selection is per app, so Instacart or a supermarket app can stay available while DoorDash is blocked. A Food & Drink category limit cannot make that split, because both sit in the same category.
