The feed closes
before the school week starts.

A Fella routine locks the social apps you choose on Sunday through Thursday nights and holds until morning, so a late scroll before school isn't a decision anyone has to make in the moment.

A school night has its own shape: homework finishes, there's downtime before bed, and a feed with no stopping point fills whatever space that downtime leaves. This isn't a homework-time block, and it isn't a generic every-night sleep routine either. It's the specific stretch between "done for the day" and "asleep," on the nights that actually matter for the next morning's alarm.

Set Sunday through Thursday, leave the weekend

Select the social apps that eat the evening and build a routine for the nights before school, typically Sunday through Thursday. Weekends can stay off the routine entirely, or run on a looser schedule if that fits better.

Set the start time for after homework and dinner, when the unstructured evening actually begins, and the end time for morning. The routine handles the rest.

Why the evening, not just bedtime, matters here

A feed doesn't announce a natural stopping point. Once homework is done, the evening is unstructured, and there's always one more post, one more video. By the time "bedtime" technically arrives, an hour or more has already quietly gone.

Starting the block earlier in the evening, not just at lights-out, closes that gap. The routine can begin right when homework ends, not just when someone decides it's finally time to sleep.

Still reachable for anything real

Leave Phone, Messages, and any alarm apps off the blocked list entirely, so those keep working exactly as normal. For the one time a class group message genuinely can't wait, each session includes a single 5-minute emergency unlock, then the selected apps lock again automatically.

Beyond social media specifically

If it's games, not social media, eating the school-night evening, see our block games on school nights page. For the homework hours themselves rather than the evening after, see block apps during homework. For social media in general, not just school nights, see our social media blocker guide.
