The thread can wait
until morning.

A Fella routine locks Reddit at the same time every night and holds until morning, so the decision to stop happens once, when you set it up, instead of every night in bed.

Reddit at night rarely feels like scrolling. It reads as one more interesting thread, right up until it's 1am. An endless supply of new threads is exactly the kind of thing that turns "just five minutes" into an hour once the lights are off. If Reddit is the one app doing that and the rest of your phone isn't the problem, a routine scoped to just Reddit is simpler than blocking everything.

One app, one nightly routine

Select Reddit on its own and set the start time to whenever you actually want to be off it, and the end time to whenever you get up. The routine begins the session on its own, so there is nothing to open once you're already in bed.

Everything else on your phone stays untouched, including messaging, your alarm, and anything else you might reach for at night.

Why Reddit is easy to underestimate at night

There's always another thread. Unlike a video that ends or a message that gets answered, a subreddit never runs out, which removes the natural stopping point most other apps eventually give you.

Still reachable for anything real

Leave Phone, Messages, and your alarm off the blocked list entirely, so those keep working exactly as normal. For the one time something on Reddit genuinely can't wait, each session includes a single 5-minute emergency unlock, then Reddit locks again automatically.

If it's more than just Reddit

If other apps are part of the same bedtime pattern, not just Reddit, see our broader block apps while sleeping page, or stop scrolling at night for the behavior side of why this happens. For blocking Reddit beyond bedtime too, see how to block Reddit on iPhone.
