Freedom's free tier is more generous than most competitors' free versions. Start Now sessions run up to 2 hours and can block apps, websites, and the internet entirely, with unlimited devices covered under the same free account.

Custom blocklists and Focus Sounds are included too. You're not limited to a single preset list, you can build your own, and Focus Sounds are part of the free experience rather than a paid add-on.

The cap is session length, not features. 2 hours per Start Now session is the main limitation, fine for short focus blocks, restrictive if you want an all-day or multi-day block.

Longer and scheduled sessions require Premium. Beyond the free tier's 2-hour Start Now cap, Premium supports Start Later and recurring sessions for ongoing, scheduled blocking.

The free tier suits short, focused blocking sessions across multiple devices. If 2-hour blocks cover your actual work pattern, the free tier alone may be enough, and it already covers unlimited devices.

Forever suits anyone certain they'll use Freedom for years and wants to stop paying entirely. $199 upfront is a real commitment, but it removes the subscription question permanently.
