Imgur often gets opened by accident, not intent. A link from Reddit or another app can drop you straight into the Imgur app to view one specific image, and from there the front page and trending galleries are one tap away. What starts as viewing a single linked picture can turn into browsing an entire feed you never meant to open.
Use Screen Time to limit Imgur
1. Open Settings, then tap Screen Time. If needed, turn on App & Website Activity. Tap App Limits, then Add Limit.
2. Select Imgur. Open the Entertainment or Social Networking category, select Imgur, tap Next, choose the daily allowance, then tap Done. Selecting Imgur on its own avoids sharing a limit with other apps you still need.
3. Know what happens when the limit is reached. iPhone shows a Screen Time limit screen, but an App Limit can be ignored by default. That's an easy override to dismiss here, since you may not have consciously chosen to open the app in the first place, following a link doesn't feel like the moment to stop and reconsider.
If Imgur still opens, check this first
Check that the App Limit applies to Imgur itself. Open Settings > Screen Time > App Limits, tap the rule, and confirm Imgur is selected and the days are correct. A category limit can behave differently from a limit on one specific app.

Check the actual path images take to reach you. If a link from Reddit or another app opens the image inside that app's own in-app browser rather than launching Imgur itself, blocking the Imgur app won't restrict that view, it's a separate surface with its own boundary.
Use Downtime for scheduled blocks
Downtime blocks most apps during a scheduled period. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Downtime, choose Scheduled, and set the days and hours. This works well for a work block or study session, when a single clicked link is most likely to expand into an unplanned browsing detour.
Turn on Block at Downtime for a real scheduled block. Apple lets Downtime show a reminder by default; with Block at Downtime enabled, restricted apps cannot open during that period. Apps in Always Allowed can remain available, so review that list if Imgur is not behaving as expected.
Focus Mode is not an Imgur blocker. Focus can silence notifications and reduce visual cues; it does not stop the app from opening if a link launches it.
