The timeline can wait
until morning.
A Fella routine locks X at the same time every night and holds until morning, so the decision to stop happens once, when you set it up, instead of every night in bed.

A timeline never actually ends, and that's exactly what makes "just one more scroll" before sleep so unreliable as a plan. If X is the one app doing that and the rest of your phone isn't the problem, a routine scoped to just X is simpler than blocking everything.
Select X on its own and set the start time to whenever you actually want to be off it, and the end time to whenever you get up. The routine begins the session on its own, so there is nothing to open once you're already in bed.
Everything else on your phone stays untouched, including messaging, your alarm, and anything else you might reach for at night.
There's no natural stopping point. A video ends, a message gets answered, but a timeline just keeps refreshing with something new, which is exactly the wrong shape of app to have open when you're already tired.
Leave Phone, Messages, and your alarm off the blocked list entirely, so those keep working exactly as normal. For the one time something on X genuinely can't wait, each session includes a single 5-minute emergency unlock, then X locks again automatically.
If other apps are part of the same bedtime pattern, not just X, see our broader block apps while sleeping page, or stop scrolling at night for the behavior side of why this happens. For blocking X beyond bedtime too, see how to block X on iPhone.
Everything you need to stay focused, right from Home.
Yes. A routine starts a blocking session on the days and times you choose, so a nightly X block begins on its own once set up, rather than needing to be turned on each evening.
No. A nightly X block uses the same routine and session mechanism as any other Fella block, just scoped to one app and applied to bedtime hours.
No, as long as you do not add those apps to the block. Fella blocks only the apps you select, so leaving Clock, Phone, and Messages unselected keeps alarms and calls working normally.
Each session includes one 5-minute emergency unlock. Use it if something genuinely needs attention, and X locks again automatically once the five minutes end.
If X specifically is what keeps you up and the rest of your phone is fine, blocking just that app keeps the setup simple and leaves everything else exactly as useful as it was.
